A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the hands and nails, and it often includes care for the cuticles. This procedure is designed to improve the appearance and health of the hands and nails.
The process usually begins with the removal of any existing nail polish. The nails are then trimmed and shaped according to your preference.
What it involves…
Soaking: The hands are first soaked in warm, soapy water or a specialized nail soak to soften your skin and cuticles. This makes it easier to manipulate your cuticles and helps to clean the nails.
Cuticle Care: We will gently push back or trim the cuticles. Cuticles are the thin layer of skin at the base of the nails. Care should be taken not to cut the cuticles too much, as they provide protection against infection.
Exfoliation: Some manicures include an exfoliating step to remove dead skin cells from the hands and fingers. This can be done using a scrub or an exfoliating lotion.
Hand Massage: A relaxing hand massage is often a part of a manicure. This step not only feels pleasant but also helps improve blood circulation and promotes relaxation.
Moisturizing: After the massage, a moisturizing lotion or oil is applied to hydrate the hands and nails. This step helps maintain the skin’s elasticity and prevents dryness.
Nail Polish Application: If you prefer, we can apply nail polish. This typically involves a base coat, one or two layers of coloured polish, and a top coat for added shine and durability. You may choose a traditional nail polish or opt for gel polish.
